We have dark wood paneling in our basement. It's heavy and textured. It looks very masculine. Thankfully, it's not at all like the pecan-colored pressed wood-looking panels I remember popping up in the 1970s. The contractor put that in the addition my parents built to their house. It wasn't nearly as pretty as the real knotted-pine kind in the kitchen. But I digress.
